Been So Busy.

Sorry that again I haven't posted often enough. My last blog entry was january and its been so busy, I have had so much going on. Last time I was doing the free shoots offer and well the lucky winners was chosen and some of them have had their shoots and some on on the books for the next month, which we all are really looking forward to.

In January I attended a fantastic newborn workshop that has changed the way that I look at my work, the way I value what I do and most importantly how to get a fantastic newborn work of art by posing, lightening and editing my images in the best way possible.
As the lady who trained us  Tracy Willis of Maternity & Mischief  says would you rather have a disc full of 100 images for £50 that you may have been able to take your self and are really just snaps and that that photographer values at less than a 50p each or would you rather have 10 perfect works of art that are edited to be the best possible image for you and where a lot of time and skill has be placed into that image. Its not just the time we spend doing these its equipment cost, insurance, business rates, training etc to give you the best work possible.

My Newborn sessions take up to and sometimes longer than 4 hours depending on the little one. Its not a quick in and a few snaps and then out again in a hour or less, I will make sure that the image is the best possible for you and if I am not happy with the images as the baby is ill or having a growth spurt and wont settle then I will simply organise a re shoot. I will spend time, getting your little one to sleep, changing their dirty nappys, feeding if possible, moving them into position for the shot and making sure that the image will be perfect, the newborn shoots are a fantastic time to relax while I work my magic on your images. These are a few images from the workshop some posed myself some posed by Tracy, but all edited my me.

So by this my pricing structure has changed and the way that I will be progressing in my business, what I am wanting to do for you is to create beautiful works of art that you will treasure forever and that you will hang on your wall with pride, I will also be doing viewings with you to show you your images on the best screen possible and we can have a chat about what you are wanting from your session photos,  I have noticed that a few of my clients screens and family members computer screens are not calibrated and make the images far too bright as they have the screens brightest adjusted to the highest settings, so they don't show you the way that I spend all the time editing them to be when they are printed. I have also noticed the rubbish quality that some of the high street printers as they also are not calibrated which means your images are not printed perfectly.

I have also joined the SWPP for those that don't know its the Society of wedding and portrait photographers and it just shows how dedicated I am in getting my photography the way that I want it to be. I will be submitting a panel of images to their judges to hopefully award me with the LSWPP title if it passes this would mean I can then go onto the next stage of more creative awards etc. So its all very very very exciting times for me and my journey.

I also did my very first rock the frock shoot and it was amazing, if anyone is interested in one please let me know they are a great way to have some very creative and different images as well as a chance to have some beautiful photos taken of you and your husband and your wedding dress again.
Here's a few of my fav's.
